How to Get Involved
Who we are
We're a team of students building jet engines, rockets, and other experimental aerospace projects. No experience needed, especially if you're a freshman eager to learn.
Why join
Get real, hands-on experience you can show off to recruiters. Build hardware, work with passionate teammates, and grow your skills faster than you thought possible.
Our Mission →
At JAS, you'll learn skills you can't get in class — from designing and simulating jet engines to wiring sensors and running real test campaigns. You don't just watch, you build.

Pulse Jet First Meeting!
Sep 9, 2025Our first meeting will be held on Thursday Sep 11th @ 6pm through 7pm at Room 360H in the John C Hitt Library. Work and learn about our brand new hydrogen powered Pulse Jet. No prerequisite required to attend!
L1 Rocketry Meetings!
Sep 9, 2025Meeting is officially Friday’s at 3:00PM for each of the next 5 workshops (including this Friday 9/12). We will be meeting in the Career Services building in room 121, CSEL-121 for this meeting, meaning next week may be somewhere different. This first meeting is going to be going over what to expect from this program, rocketry basics, and a few key ideas to have you all be thinking about for your design, so if you’re on the fence about doing this please feel free to show up and just get a feel for things, no commitment is obligated. On top of this, we have found a potential opportunity to be able to offer you guys certifications this semester. This is an ongoing problem we’re working on solving and is very very unconfirmed, but I felt that you guys should know that this is now a possibility that’s being worked on, and I’ll be keeping you all updated with any progress or changes made.
First Test Stand Meeting!
Sep 9, 2025Test Stand is meeting Wednesday (9/10) at 6:00, room is TBD. deciding the next steps for upgrading the test stand and refining it to make sure its ready for future testing.
